About MESH e.V.
Mission
Empower students to tackle real problems with interdisciplinary teams, ethical practices, and entrepreneurial thinking.
MESH at a glance
- Established: student-run nonprofit founded in 2020 and based in Stuttgart.
- Focus areas: challenges span mobility, environmental, social, and broader impact themes.
- Community: connects students, alumni, mentors, and partner organisations across Baden-Württemberg.
- Signature programmes: interdisciplinary hackathons in Stuttgart plus co-organisation of HackXplore in Karlsruhe.
What “MESH” stands for
Mobility · Education · Sustainability · Health — broad themes that reflect societal needs and inspire diverse challenges.
How we work
- By students, for students: organised by a volunteer-led registered association (e.V.).
- Open and interdisciplinary: all fields and study phases welcome; teams blend tech, design, business, and research skills.
- Partner-driven: we co-design briefs with sponsoring organisations and match challenges to student teams.
- Mentored learning: experts guide teams through workshops, mentoring slots, and pitch coaching.
- Public outcomes: demos and pitches showcase solutions, often continuing as prototypes, internships, or pilot projects.
Impact
Participants gain hands-on experience, expand their network, and often continue projects as prototypes, internships, or new initiatives after the hackathon weekend. MESH also co-organises HackXplore with NXTGN to extend that impact beyond Stuttgart.
